Hi, I’m Ashley. Ashley Antoniette Marie to be precise. I was introduced to cooking and baking by my mother and grandfather as a young tyke in Chicago, IL. Since then, I have been cooking in restaurants and hotels for over seven years and traveling my whole life. My writing stems from my love of simple to fine foods, the complex yet rewarding world of oenology, and my dining and cultural experiences everywhere from New York to Europe to Asia. I love cooking for close ones at home in my tiny (and I mean tiny!) apartment, blogging about my culinary quests and spending my time indulging at the local restaurants in Charlotte. I currently work in the kitchen at the Ritz-Carlton in Charlotte, North Carolina.
“Kitchenese” is literally a way of life. To be a foodie is to be immersed in all things food and drink, but to speak Kitchenese is to live and breathe the art of culinary. Us foodies have an unspoken, mutual understanding. Differences in religion or politics are infinite, but the language of the kitchen is universal.
Do you speak Kitchenese?
