Around the World and Back to Blue

No, just kidding.
We actually had dinner at Blue Restaurant and Bar, which is the next best thing (or maybe a close third). This restaurant is a long-time favorite; I’ve dined there on plenty of special occasions, participated in fancy-schmancy wine dinners and even joined my mother and her colleagues for important business gatherings. Overall, this restaurant is a ten out of ten. It’s a tad pricey, but you’re paying for quality, ambience, and consistency of service. Not some restaurant where they turn the lights down low, play some clamorous techno and come to check on you twice per visit. No, this restaurant has it all. Titillating food, impeccable service, and the best jazz music in Charlotte (they won an award for it!). All perks aside, the around-the-world food preparations by Chef Gene Briggs are exquisite. Take a trip to Morrocco for a Lamb Shank Tagine, to North Africa for Calamari with Fried Olives and Peppadews, to Greece for a Whole Roasted Mediterranean Bronzini or to Italy for a Duo of Wild Boar. Whichever country(s) you choose to whisk off to for the evening, your senses are sure to be entertained.
